THE DAYS OF OUR YEARS

Jean Cocteau, Marcel Archard, Andre Roussin, Georges Auric, Pierre Fresnay contributed their insights to this documentary that covers the first fifty years of the 20th century. Highlights include rare footage of 1900's Paris, attempts at air and sea exploration, the opening of King Tut's Tomb, and the first rocket launch. Cocteau appears on screen to introduce rare footage of artists and scientists including Sara Bernhard, Renoir, Picasso, Shaw, Rodin, Sarte and Matisse at work. Some strange items and fads are also covered -- including the 'walking truck' and women participating in cigarette smoking competitions! A memorable, nostalgic look at the first half of the 20th century as seen by the world’s greatest artists and philosophers.
